The Eastern Salt Company of Chelsea, MA held a maritime festival on their grounds August 2, 2008. There was a tug boat to tour, a vertical drop demo by the Coast Guard and a presentation to the Coast Guard of a Chelsea Clock by the City of Chelsea Administrator. All in all a lovely day.

The front porch of Sissy and Tuck's house is very impressive.
Entering the grounds of the Eastern Salt Co. there is a view of some tents for the party with the Tobin Bridge creating a terrific background.
Let's hear it for the Coast Guard!!! Three Cheers!!! This was their tent with Coastie information.
This is the main part of the tug boat that was open to visitors. These are dandy little vessels - with tons of oomph for their size.
I believe this is one of the main winches for attaching to ships they will be towing. Not 100% on this as I didn't see anyone I could ask (the one guy I did see was busy talking to others so I didn't bother him).
To give you an idea of the size, I grabbed our blogging star of the day - Sissy - and had her pose next to the huge contraption.
There are bumpers on all sides of this vessel. Tires line each side with even larger bumpers in front and back.
Look at the size of the ropes - they're huge! I'm not sure what the machine might be... anchor possibly?
An outside view of the bridge.
